Sept 09 - Despite official reports of unemployment being at a 10 year high, Metier can report an exceptionally strong start to October

Organisations that offer Solutions that deliver a true return on investment are experiencing a growth in business and as such, they are now looking to strengthen their teams and take advantage of a recovering economy. Business that are involved with Virtualisation, Cloud computing and VMWare are amongst the more optimistic of clients. In a survey that was carried out by Metier’s in-house marketing team in September 2009, results showed that 46% of existing clients intended to strengthen their UK workforce in the next 6 months. Positive signs!!

 

Feb 09 - Metier aims to raise £1,000 for charity

Six members of Metier’s Manchester team have enrolled to take part in this year’s BUPA Manchester 10k run. This year’s event takes place on Sunday 18th May and the team are aiming high in trying to raise £1,000 for SDBTT (Samantha Dickinson Brain Tumour Trust), a charity which raises funds for research into brain tumours.

Jan 09 - Two new consultants join Metier’s expanding team

The start of the year saw the addition of 2 new members of Metier’s ever-expanding team of consultants. Lucy Ketley and Abbi Taylor have joined the team and, in doing so, bring a combined 21 years of experience in senior level IT recruitment. Both Lucy and Abbi will be tasked with developing new and existing accounts in the UK and Europe whilst delivering Metier’s quality service.Director, Peter Donoghue, commented “the ability to attract such experienced consultants to the business was largely assisted by the strong reputation Metier has built up in the market in such a small space of time. We are confident our clients will benefit from their added knowledge and experience”.

 

Dec 08 - December sees an unsure market

Whilst December is traditionally a quiet time for candidates starting new jobs, this year was fairly buoyant as most forward thinking, IT companies, were focused on strengthening their sales and technical teams in anticipation of a tough 2009. Metier recorded placement figures which were up 29% on the same month last year and report strong projected placements into the new year.

 

Nov 08 - Metier partners SHL to offer psychometric tools

After a long evaluation period of the psychometric profiling market, Metier has signed an agreement with SHL, the market leader in the provision of people performance management tools, to offer their range of 250 assessment tools. The tools cover ability testing, personality assessments, competency based assessments and much more. Peter Donoghue (a director of Metier) commented, “in a competitive market, Metier constantly strives to differentiate itself from its competition. The best way to do this in a mature market, is to raise the levels of service and by offering SHL tools we believe we are demonstrating our commitment to our clients’ business.” SHL is the only psychometric testing tool that is fully accredited by the BBA.

 

Oct 08 - Metier enjoys record number of placements

Despite gloomy economic predictions, Metier enjoyed its highest ever level of placements in the month of October 2008. The majority of placements (53%) were within Medium to Large software enterprises, whilst 32% were with Medium to Large sized provider of managed services and BPO services.
